WEEK IN REVIEW

Hello from the desk of the Alliance. It has been a fun week to work for the Ashland Alliance. We are coming off some of the biggest and best events of the year with Business After Hours at the Festival of Trees and Trains sponsored by Desco Federal Credit Union and just last night Bellefonte Centre, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital & Our Lady of Bellefonte Foundation hosted the largest Business After Hours of the year. I hope all of you that attended had half as much fun as I did. Our Young Professionals gathered food supplies for local food banks last night as well. It was a great night to be a part of the Alliance.

Tomorrow morning at 9 am is the Winter Wonderland of Lights Breakfast with Santa at the Round House in Central Park. It’s always wonderful to see families come out to spend time with Santa, hear holiday music and have a nice breakfast. Just one example of how the community celebrates the holidays and places the focus on family.

We also are operating the Santa House in Central Park on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening from 6-9 pm. This is a great opportunity for your business to get into the holiday spirit and help! We are looking for volunteers to help staff the Log House on the weekends from now to Christmas. This is a wonderful chance to give back as an individual or business. Last weekend over 200 children shared with Santa what they wanted for Christmas.

Finally, this morning I had a special honor to be the speaker at the Tri-State Building Trades Christmas Breakfast held at the Delta Hotel. Over 150 members of companies, labor, and friends gathered to celebrate the season and to look forward to the next year. It was special to stand up and tell the story of this community, to share the hope of the things to come, and to celebrate what a trade and a career can mean to young adults and their families. I want to thank Mark Johnson for the chance to highlight this community and how, together, we are doing great things.

As we get closer to the holidays, I want to say to each of you….Thank you! I hope you feel the season. I hope you experience the holiday cheer with your friends and family. This is a special community so raise a glass of cheer, celebrate the good and finish the year with a bang.

From the desk of the Alliance Staff, thank you!!

Tim, Paula, Missy, Susan, and our newest member Kari Huffman!
