HONORING PAULA MAYO

It is with a heavy heart that I share these words with you. The Alliance and this community lost a wonderful lady this week. Ms. Paula Mayo has been the center of all things Ashland Alliance for 40 years. She knew and cared for many of you. Her work and passion for this organization has made all of us better. I am honored to have had the chance to work with her over my last 6 years.

Visitation is Saturday from 5-7 PM at Steen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations be made in Paula’s memory to James Cancer Center, 460 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210.

Paula would be upset with me if I did not continue to do what we do and help our businesses and community move forward. This week we did this with two wonderful ribbon cuttings.

Frye & Troxler PSC and Happy Heart Organics opened their doors this week. Both had strong attendances and support from the community with great media coverage. Paula would have been so proud. For us, these events were a great reminder of what we do. Even in the face of a pandemic, people are opening businesses and planting seeds for a better tomorrow.

This week has been hard on the Alliance family. Along the way we remember the good times and we welcome the new. Today marks a new beginning on several levels. We have good news — new businesses call us home. And there is more to come. Paula would like this. Thank you from the desk of the Alliance.
