NEW BOARD MEMBERS AND NEW IDEAS

Hello from the desk of the Alliance! After last week with Kari Huffman taking the reins of the Friday report, I had to get mine done early to grab my spot back for the weekly update. This week the Alliance held a full board meeting. Of course, it was a safe gather via Zoom.. We had over 85% attendance of our board gathered to hear what is going on with the organization and voice their ideas for what we can and should be doing. One of the actions approved by the board was adding new board members. For the first time in a year, five new board members were added!

David Deborde, Members Choice Credit Union, Debbie Cosper, Boyd County Library, Steven Lycans, MyTown TV, Tyler Burke, Columbia Gas, Tim Muffley, Desco Federal Credit Union, and Aaron Snyder, The Daily Independent. It is always a great day when individuals and companies want to be a part of this organization and help spread the word of what we do and give their two cents on how to lead us. Thank you to the members on the board and what they do. There were a few other items under board and leadership that were approved by the full board. Cindy Wiseman, VP of Kentucky Power was selected to be the next Chairperson of the Ashland Alliance. Dr. Larry Ferguson, President of ACTC was chosen to be the Vice President of the Alliance and Scott Rigsby, Edward Jones Investments was chosen to serve on the Executive Board of the Alliance. All and all a great slate of members and officers for the next year.

Our meeting was facilitated by current board chair Kristie Whitlatch. Kristie chose the perfect year to be chairperson of the Alliance along with leading over 5,000 employees at King’s Daughters Medical Center! We are very appreciative of Kristie and her leadership of the Alliance. We are certainly not done for the year either. There are good things to come even in this year of all things Covid-19.

Thank you from the desk of the Alliance. We are here to serve you and make this community a great place to live and raise our families.
