Hello from the desk of your Ashland Alliance. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to share the activity of the week and to celebrate new businesses opening in our region. On Thursday of this week, Scott took the reins of the ship and welcomed Cargo House Pizza to 2514 Carter Avenue, Ashland. Erin Hutchinson and crew are making great specialty pizzas, sandwiches, pasta, and salads from this location!
On Friday, we were honored to celebrate with BodyWorx, Physical Therapy & Chiropractic Wellness Center, at 1451 Diederich Blvd. in Russell. This full-service physical therapy & chiropractic center is on top of its game in providing you with wellness, nutrition, and injury prevention options. It is a great day to welcome a new business to the City of Russell.
The Alliance also held a Full-Board Meeting this week. We gathered the business leaders from around Boyd and Greenup Counties and our friends from the City of Ashland to hear what is driving the economy of Northeast Kentucky and how the Alliance is positioned to help the business community grow and expand.
A few Nuggets coming your way:
· Next week, the Alliance is partnering with Ashland Credit Union and Bubbles & Sweets on the opening of their new locations.
· The Alliance is co-hosting Lunch and Learn on May 30 at Giovanni’s Pizza & Pub on US 60, featuring a regional tourism update with Andrew Steele from Boyd County tourism and Brandy Clark from Visit AKY. RSVP soon as it is filling up fast.
· With the weather as it is, lawn and garden work is going on everywhere. It’s no mystery how busy Ashland’s oldest continual (1832) and family-owned business has been. That’s right, we are talking about Ashland Milling and Tyler Meek taking care of us all.

The last nugget I want to share with you is that we are starting to produce a weekly podcast with great stories, updates, and an opportunity to learn about what makes the economy of Northeast Kentucky click. You will hear directly from the newsmakers about how they are making this the community it is today. We have dedicated our time to sharing your stories with the world and our membership. You need to know what is coming and how to be a part of it.

Thank you for the opportunity to share what your organization is doing, where we are going, and how we can work together to make this an even stronger community.

Enjoy your weekend!
