Hello from the desk of the Ashland Alliance.
This week we celebrate working with others, highlighting a community, and recognizing how hard work makes a difference. We had a short work week, but we sure did pack a lot of handshakes and “good to see you” into it! The reason for the short week gave us yet another memorable Summer Motion. Our hats go off to the committee of volunteers, the City of Ashland and its employees that give so much of their time and efforts and all the sponsors that make it happen!
Last night we partnered with Members Choice Credit Union, Revitalize Russell, the City of Russell, and the downtown Russell businesses for Business After Hours. They welcomed northeast Kentucky to their hometown. It was a great evening to see the work and the investment that has taken place in Russell. A great crowd, many familiar faces, community leaders past and present, a great time with many smiles that even a little rain couldn’t dampen. You should take time to make it down to Russell! You will be proud of what is going on.
Over the summer, the Alliance is working to highlight all of Boyd and Greenup Counties. There are nuggets that will show what makes this community what it is. We are here to help you!
This week has been busy on the economic development side as well. We are sharing with the world what we have to offer and how to be the next growth community. We are proud to partner with and support our cities and counties in their efforts and bring northeast Kentucky together.
We want to remind you of “The Commonwealth Tour of The Louisville Orchestra” tomorrow evening at the Paramount Arts Center. With the “In Harmony” tour, the Louisville Orchestra is traveling to every corner of the Commonwealth, the first orchestra nationwide to ever do so! It’s free, and their conductor, Teddy Abrams is a “rock star” in the orchestral world as conductors go. He is sought after around the globe! Grab some friends and go have a great time!
