Good day from the desk of the Alliance. I hope this finds each one of you working to close out another year and making plans to make 2020 an even better year. This is the theme of the message today. It represents the week we have had and what we are doing to help each one of you make 2020 a better year than 2019.

The Alliance hosted the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce for the Legislative Preview at Bellefonte Country Club on Thursday. This gave 40 members a firsthand look at how changes in Frankfort could affect their businesses. It also linked them to the Alliance and the Kentucky Chamber legislative updates during the session. This event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors: Braidy Industries, Marathon Petroleum Company, and Kentucky Power. Thank you to each of these sponsors.

I also had the honor and privilege, last night, to be the speaker at the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. It was funny to hear someone say, “you can speak as long as you want”. They don’t know me very well! The Ashland Alliance has great partnerships with all the regional chambers and looks to evaluate how we can do even more in 2020. Collectively, we are stronger than apart.

Finally, I spent two days in Frankfort for all the inauguration festivities this week. Just as the Legislative Preview showed us all the moving parts of the 2020 60-day Legislative Session, being in Frankfort shows we represent you and your interests! There will be all new Leadership of every department of state government. We need the relationships to get things done and to help you. This is a priority that will affect each one of you and how we can support you now for years to come.

As the Christmas parties start to wind down and as we realize how close we are to a new year the Alliance is providing information, connections, and collaborations for each one of you for years to come.

Merry Christmas and enjoy the day.
