Each week the Alliance brings news and notes to this piece to inform and inspire each of you. There are times that on Friday I look around and say what is the words that best represent who we are and what we have done to make this a better place for you and your business. This first rainy morning that felt a bit like fall is one of those weeks. As I look back at the week and the activities happening, one core function stood out to me and its one of the most important for this organization. We found ways to help our members.

I had the honor of sitting down with one potential new member and one past member of this organization. The conversation wasn’t “please join the Alliance”. It was “let’s have a talk about how we can help you”. Topics from better road signage, to unemployment insurance rates were the topics at hand. Each conversation was different and for the majority of the items we either had a direct informational piece, had a partnership with the responsible agency, or could at least clear up what could or could not be done to assist them. This is who we are. Our existing businesses are the core of this community. Your economic health is paramount. Conversations like these are key to not only you finding the value in this organization it literally can be the future success and growth for your business and community.

Every time we have the opportunity to sit down and hear your issues and opportunities this organization has the chance to serve you. This is the message of the day. We are here to serve and can make a difference in your bottom line.

The Alliance was honored to host a ribbon cutting for Holston Gases this week. It is always a great thing to welcome a new business to the community. They are here and ready to serve and be active in the community. We are also preparing for our next Business After Hours being held at ReMax Real Team Realty on Thursday, August 29. C.J. and her crew do a wonderful job serving the area and look forward to hosting everyone for a wonderful event and great chance to hear what is going on in your business as well.

Finally, details are being worked out for the Ashland Alliance Regional Celebration and Annual Event on October 5. This event will feature Honorable Matt Bevin, Governor of the State of Kentucky and additional invited special guests. This is the biggest, foremost business event in the Tri-State. Sponsorship and tickets are now available at the Alliance office. Next week a full package will be available with the Presidents Report. Stay tuned!!!!!
