ASHLAND, Ky. — The third annual Gravy Bowl will be heating up Ashland on Saturday, Feb. 8. The popular cooking event will be pulling into the station at 10 a.m. and will be taking over the Ashland Train Depot on 99 15th Street.

The “Bowl” game allows those attending to sample biscuits and gravy dishes from dozens of local restaurants, organizations and at-home chefs. The gravy entries featured will be in three categories: sawmill gravy (meat gravy), country gravy (meatless gravy) and a freestyle category. The biscuits for the event will all be prepared and generously provided by local McDonald’s restaurants.

In addition to an area-wide selection of fine gravy and amazing biscuits, there will also be a brunch bar and live sets performed by the duo Baylee Morgan & David Austin and Sheldon Road.

Admission to the Gravy Bowl will be $5 per person, with children 12 and under admitted free. Sampling tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased at the event.

Professional cooks will compete in the “seasoned pro” division, and amateur cooks will compete in the “home cookin’ all star” division. Teams interested in signing up as a gravy cookoff participant should visit ashlandinmotion.org or email ashlandinmotion@gmail.com. Up-to-date information about the Gravy Bowl is always posted on the Ashland in Motion Facebook page.
