Tim Gibbs has been named chairman of the Kentucky Association for Economic Development for 2020.

Gibbs, the President & CEO of Ashland Alliance, said he was honored to be selected for the role. KAED works within three service pillars: education, advocacy and collaboration. They aim to lead missions within the nation and internationally to market Kentucky for business and economic opportunity.

The KAED is a membership association. Its stakeholders are interested in economic development in Kentucky. In 2019, it launched the Kentucky Product Development Initiative. It was a multi-million dollar grant-making program that would distribute funds to capital improvement projects.

The group established 2020 deployment, a professional education and certification program designed for economic developers and stakeholders.

The newly elected officers and directors of KAED are John Bevinton, LG&E and KU. They have taken on responsibilities as Chair-Elect. Bob Helton was also introduced as Secretary-Treasurer.
