CATLETTSBURG, Ky. — The cherished annual tradition of the Labor Day parade in Catlettsburg is just around the corner.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. in Catlettsburg and is part of a weekend-long series of festivities to celebrate the holiday honoring the American worker.

“We are really excited about the Labor Day event,” Catlettsburg Mayor Faith Pike said. “A lot of people are involved and have been working real hard to make this year a great event.”

The mayor said this year’s Labor Day Celebration will be one of the biggest events to date. Each year Labor Day fills the city from one end to the other as residents and tourists enjoy the parade, vendors, and special musical guests. This year The Oak Ridge Boys are headlining musical events on Monday night.

Saturday in Catlettsburg will be filled with rummage sales, Horticulture Expos, and reunions. Sunday there will be church services, Trade Days, the mayor’s reception, an ice cream social, gospel music, reunions, and Youth Fest. Monday will be the popular pancake breakfast, more Trade Days, and then the Labor Day Parade. Live music will be on the Courthouse Stage. This year’s Grand Marshal will be Boyd County Alumni Savannah Wheeler, 2019 Kentucky Miss Basketball.
