ASHLAND, Ky. — Some exciting new changes are in store for attendees of the Ashland Alliance’s regional business celebration this year.

Tim Gibbs, chief executive officer of the Alliance, said the yearly gathering of business leaders throughout the region will be held in downtown Ashland at the brand new Delta by Marriott.

“We want to highlight downtown and highlight what is going on,” Gibbs said. “We will be centered at the new Delta Marriott. We think there is a story to be told and not just with the hotel but also what’s going on across the street, at the five and dime, what’s happening everywhere with this rebirth of this proud town. We really want to highlight that.”

Gov. Matt Bevin and friends are confirmed as speakers. The event will also be different than years past in that it will not feel like a traditional banquet.

“We are going to do some things differently,” Gibbs said. “We are going to hold a business social for about two hours and use all of the first floor and all of the second floor. The restaurants, the bars, the outside areas, all of it will be used for a business social. We are going to have food services throughout the entire area.”

Gibbs said there will be 10 different serving stations for attendees throughout the first and second floors of the hotel with all different types of food available. Rooms at the Delta will be available through sponsorship packages and ticket sales.

The event is Oct. 5 at 6 p.m.

“We are going to have high-level speakers,” Gibbs said. “And, we are going to cut down on the amount of time people speak.”

“After we are done we are going to have music and dancing — we are going to have fun,” Gibbs said. “This is a Saturday night and it is a business casual leave the tie at home event. This is a Saturday night business social with a great speaker highlighting a wonderful town, the rebirth of a community and, afterwards, having a lot of fun.”

Tickets are available by calling the Alliance at 606-324-5111.
