Queen’s Cottage

The Queen’s Cottage will be celebrating their third year of business in December 2020. They offer a full line of boutique clothing for tweens, teens, and women. They carry several name brands and gift items as well as a great variety of face masks.

Owner, Kelly Queen says, “To me, the Ashland Alliance is a great support system for small businesses like myself. During the pandemic, they have kept me up to date with all of the help and support small businesses could receive. They also provided us the opportunity to purchase health insurance with a group rate just by being a member.”

Queen, her husband, and their three daughters all grew up in the area and attend Fairview Baptist Church which is how Queen discovered the location for her brick and mortar location. It is located just across the street in a 1940s style, white house with a large pink “Q” sign above the front door. Queen and her husband also own a fundraising company where they help raise money for local playgrounds, field trips, computers for classrooms, and a variety of other causes. Since the Queen’s Cottage began, Queen has always looked for brands that give back. At the Queen’s Cottage they have brands that protect and help dogs, elephants, and turtles. They also carry a brand that provides jobs to women in Haiti and another that gives a headband to a child in the hospital with every purchase. The Alliance is thankful for Queen’s membership and contribution to the area’s business community.

Tech Wizard

Tech Wizard is coming up on six years of business in Greenup County. They offer: general IT services, computer repair, custom built computers, small business websites, wireless security cameras and equipment, and low cost cell phone plans.

Owner and entrepreneur, Joshua Spears, takes great pride in his community. He serves as the President of the Greenup County Extension Council, the President of the Greenup Photography Club, is a member of the Old Fashion Days Committee and the Greenup Business Association. He has also served as the President and Regional Zone Chairman of the Lions Club. Originally from Wurtland and having worked for various businesses in downtown Greenup, Spears says Greenup was the perfect place to start his business and since then has seen substantial growth in his community.

Spears says, “I put extra effort in to stay local and give back to the community that has helped support my small business for so long. I want people to know they can trust me, in IT Services and business. You need someone you can rely on for quick responses in emergency situations, and someone you can trust with your most important data. You need someone who can explain what is happening, and someone who is concerned with the safety of your data and keeping your business and life going with our current reliance on technology.”
