Ashland Alliance

President’s Report – Sept. 15, 2017

Save the Date!

I'm excited to share the news of the week! Please save the date of November 20th, 2017 for a very special Ashland Alliance Annual Dinner. This celebration is the perfect way to kick off your holiday week. The event will be held at the Boyd County Community Center and will feature live music, great food, and a speaker lineup promises not to disappoint.

Governor Matt Bevin and Braidy Industries President/CEO, Craig Bouchard, are our featured speakers. We have a lot of reasons to be thankful this Thanksgiving season. These two gentlemen will share with you how our region is poised for today and the future. This event should be the biggest and best celebration this region has seen in a long, long time. We are expecting a large crowd and a great time for the event.

Over the next week or two, you will see opportunities for sponsorships and table reservations. It is our goal to have each and every one of you there that evening. It is because of you and your support that the Ashland Alliance is able to play its role in making great things happen in this region. This is our opportunity say thank you for the good fortune that is happening in the region.

The Annual Meeting is not the only thing we were focused on this week at the Alliance.  On Thursday, I was asked to represent the State Cabinet for Environmental Protection at the Appalachian Brownfield Conference, held in Morgantown, WV. It so happens that we have the largest brownfield project in the state of Kentucky in Braidy Industries. It was a wonderful experience to present to a multi-state gathering the benefits of being prepared for a project.

This is a great time of year to live in our area! I am excited to share the news of the week and to extend the save-the-date for the biggest celebration in a long time for this region. Let’s make November 20th a date to remember!
