A Taste of Fall
Thank you for being a part of the Ashland Alliance! I apologize for not publishing a President Report last week. Last Friday, the Alliance held its fall golf outing at Diamond Links Golf Course. The full-day event had 21 teams competing for the traveling trophy. It was a perfect fall day at Dimond Links. I couldn't help but notice the investment and improvements to the golf course by the new owners. Our first-place winner was the Kings Daughters Medical Center team. There was a tie for the low score with Kings Daughters winning the tiebreaker by scoring an eagle on the 18th hole over the Marathon Petroleum team. Proud to say thank you for all involved and for the sponsors of the event. Braidy Industries was the headline sponsor with Don Hall Chevrolet, Pepsi, and Dave’s Bakery all helping make it a great day.
The Alliance also partnered with City National Bank this week for a ribbon cutting at their new branch in Kings Daughters Medical Center. There are few things better for us than celebrating a new or expanding business in the area. Our ribbon cutting gives a wonderful chance to highlight a new business in the region.
I am also proud to announce that we now have our Presenting sponsor for the 19th Annual Ashland Alliance Membership Meeting on Nov. 20th, 2017 at the Boyd County Community Center. Marathon Refinery will have the honor of presenting the dinner and introducing Governor Matt Bevin. This event is now planned and tickets and tables are available. I've included a complete list of sponsorship opportunities in this report. This night of celebration will feature both Governor Bevin and Braidy CEO and President Craig Bouchard. There is a lot to highlight and celebrate in the region. Please come out and enjoy the night with the Ashland Alliance members and our friends.
On the horizon is the upcoming Legislative Preview. Next week, I hope to have a date for this great event. We will feature Kentucky Chamber of Commerce President Dave Attkisson and our local elected delegation to talk about what changes may come to tax reform, pensions, and the upcoming two-year budget for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This is a great event for your business to have a voice in the political debate that is coming.
There is lots going on and even more cued up over the next several weeks. We appreciate your time, energy, and commitment to making this a stronger economy and a better place to call home. We are honored to have a role in helping you build a strong region.
