President’s Report – June 8, 2018

We're Back!

Sorry that you haven’t received a President’s report for the last few weeks. It has been very nuts around here with last week's Braidy Groundbreaking (VIEW PHOTOS OF THE GROUNDBREAKING HERE) and the week before when I was on the road meeting with businesses looking at our area for expansion. All in all its been a great couple weeks for the Ashland Alliance and the region.

This week started off with the afterglow of having the Governor, Craig Bouchard, and several thousand people for the Braidy celebration and groundbreaking. It is impressive to see the progress that can happen with people working together. I want to take a moment and say thank you to the staff of the Alliance. There were several long days and nights in assisting Braidy Industries for the event. Our job is unique but, with it comes times when you have to do more then what is the norm for most companies. Thank you, ladies, for making the Alliance a special place!

This week we celebrated ribbon cuttings, new announcements, and new projects.  Great American Kitchens and Baths opened on Winchester Avenue. The Alliance provided the ribbon and Gregg Maddox, and his staff hosted the community for the official kick-off to their kitchen and bath showroom. Hearing Mr. Maddox speak of why now is the time to invest in Ashland, confirms what a lot of people are feeling. Things are on the move here.

It was also announced this week that Bluegrass RV had purchased the former Fannin’s Motor property on US 60 for a new recreational vehicle dealership. This new location will employ 75 workers and have over 10 million dollars in inventory. It is great to see this property being used again.

My final comment for the week is this: This has been a terrific week for the region. I can promise every member we are working to make next week and the following ones even better. We are seeking out new companies and helping our existing ones. We are sharing what makes this area ripe for new investment and growth. I spent several days in the last few weeks with new companies that are looking at us now for the first time. It will take time, but something extraordinary has started here. The Alliance wants to help each of you take advantage of this and have your best years going forward.

Thank you for the chance to be apart of your business and your family.
