Celebrate Good Times
Happy Friday from the desk of the Ashland Alliance. After coming off a great 4th of July celebration and Summer Motion and Greenup County's 4th of July festivities, we are in the midst of summertime in Northeast Kentucky.
We have additional reasons to be thankful this week. Yesterday we had the privilege of announcing a new business to the region. Wright-Mix Material Solutions, LLC will add 130 jobs with an $8.5 million investment in the Wurtland Riverport. This announcement made with the Greenup/Boyd Riverport highlights the momentum of the region. This family owned business, based out of Pikeville Kentucky, will build an 80,000 sq. ft facility that will use rail, river, and road for shipping and logistics.
Announcements such as this emphasize when communities and strategic partners work together, great things can be accomplished. Partners in this project include Kentucky Power, Woodlands Foundation, City of Wurtland, Greenup County Fiscal Court and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet with the Ashland Alliance.
The Alliance also partnered with Our Lady of Bellefonte Auxillary for a business after hours last night. This was one of our biggest After Hours of the year and was a great event for all that attended. Business after Hours are one of the best ways to market your business and build connections with our business community. Feel free to call the office to schedule a Business After Hours for your company.
I would like to end with this note: We enjoy drawing attention to when new businesses come to our community. But, each one of your businesses is just as important and vital to keep our economy moving forward. The Ashland Alliance is here to support your business. Please feel free to reach out to us to invite us to come visit you and find ways we can help your business.
Thank each of you for what you do. Together we will make this a stronger community.
