ASHLAND, Ky. Poage Landing Days President Christy Meade is looking forward to the upcoming festival set for this weekend.
“People are gonna see the same thing that they’ve come to expect from Poage Landing Days over the past many years,” she said
As of Tuesday, Meade said 130 vendors had signed up, including food and crafts.
In addition to vendors, the festival will present live entertainment, amusement activities, a bike and car show and Dock Dogs competitions. Meade said this year’s entertainment would also include gospel music on Sunday for the first time.
Sunday morning will kick off with a community church service at the 16th Street stage between Winchester Avenue and Greenup Avenue from 10 a.m. to noon. Fellowship will be at 9:30 a.m. and will include coffee and doughnuts.
The gospel music will be from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the main stage on 16th Street.
“I’m hoping that brings some people down that may not have normally come to us on Sunday,” said Meade.
As a first time president, Meade said she has shifted into the new position with the guidance and support of the festival’s experienced committee.
“It’s really been a great help as far as the transition goes,” she said.
